Hobby Drop-in Group Raughton Head Parish Magazine
Hobby Drop-in Group
We meet on the 1st & 3rd Wednesday of each month from 9.30 am - 11.30 am. in All Saints Church, Raughton Head.

The group will have display at the Festival of Talents in church. There are some dedicated knitters for the Shoebox Samaritan’s’ Purse charity work led by Estelle. Others are working on embroidery projects. We hope to have vintage some textile collections and patterns of interest alongside our present day, contemporary offerings. The traditional ‘Clippy’ rug will be on display, as a ‘work in progress’ with an interesting ‘Up cycling ’knitted rug and patchwork from Jane. All are welcome to join the group which meets first and third Wednesday of the month.

A traditional Clippy or Proddy rag rug (please see design below) has been started, courtesy of a frame from Ina and Joe Monkhouse. We now need any old woollies or woollen fabrics to cut into strips to make into the rug.
The aim is to share ideas and have company, while completing hobby projects that you have on the go or you might like to explore hidden talents.
My quest is to complete a wool hookie rug that I began back in Oz some years ago!
It would be great to have some company to keep me on target to get it finished in 2019.
Rag rug making is a good way to Up-cycle unwanted textiles and potentially to make something useful and unique. Bring along your own projects, ideas as well as any materials that are no longer needed which could be recycled.
Call in and see if this group is of interest to you or if you have ideas to share.
Refreshments will be available. If interested or you have any queries please contact
